Dethroned Gods:re begins at the very moment where your character has been taken from the human realm. Whether you were on the phone, on a date, taking a test in class, on death row, or in any other situation; your character instantly vanished at 6:65 PM (not military time). For most, they appeared in the Pantheon and were informed of their heritage and the absence of the gods. Some, however, were lost in limbo and appear throughout Ebraxas and the Pantheon at random. Whether you choose to have your character start at the beginning or with a clean slate is entirely up to you.
are all characters demi-gods?
Yes, all characters created on the site are demi-gods. No character should have knowledge of their divine heritage before arriving at the Pantheon; please respect this rule.
which gods/goddesses are allowed?
All gods/goddesses that are found on Wikipedia are allowed. However, Christianity deities are not allowed; also, on DG:re, Hercules is still considered a demi-god.
can I be the child of a mythological creature?
No, mythological creatures are off limits; this also applies to titans.
what if someone has the same god-parent as me?
Congratulations, you have just found your half-sibling(s)! If individuals share the same mythological parent - or godparent for short - you are, without a doubt, siblings. It's up to you to figure your familial ties with someone - and, if you would like to roleplay with them, to see how it goes.
can I switch my parent god?
No, not after your application has been approved... so choose wisely. c:
did my mortal parent know about any of this?
No. Your mortal parent didn't know about your mythological parent being a god, nor did they have any knowledge about you being a demi-god. I would also like to add that this would mean your mortal parent was a single parent; unless they had you of wedlock or started to date again after the departure of your mythological parent.
what if I don't like my right?
Staff try their best to give out good and sensible rights that are related to the theme of your mythological parent. Sadly, rights are for keeps, so even if you dislike the right you receive, it's up to you to make it work. Be warned, if we notice a member deleting their account or making a new one just to have a new right, we simply won't approve the profile.
is there technology here?
No. Due to the existence and use of magic, it's unneeded. There are gates for quick traveling and oracles for communication. The one and only piece of technology that transferred over were cell phones. However, they are only capable of texting other demigods.
what language do we speak?
In the mythological realm, everyone can understand everyone else. In actuality, it's not that a singular universal language exists, it's just that whatever's said in one demi-god's native tongue is translated into that of whoever's listening. The Divine Council came up with this idea to make things run smoothly between demi-gods. To sum it up, if you speak English, everyone around you will also appear to be speaking English.
can I transfer my coins?
No. You are not allowed to transfer coins to anyone, not even your own sub-accounts.
how do I get items?
Events on the site will give out certain things like rights, weapons, and beasts.
how do I equip/use items?
Staff will post in your inventory thread and update your template to reflect what rights, weapons, and beasts you have. Once there, they can be used whenever and wherever, so long as you follow their specific, written guidelines.
can I lose/break/use up my items?
You will not lose your items after you get them unless you go inactive. However, there will be some instances where your items will become unusable halfway through a thread (i.e. your beast companion dies); you will be without the item for the remaining duration of the thread, but will be able to use it once more at the beginning of your next thread.
is there an inventory limit
can I trade/sell/transfer my items?
No. You are not allowed to sell, trade, or transfer your items to anyone, not even your own sub-accounts.
can my character have other items besides the ones listed in the inventory?
YES. Your character is allowed to use basic weapons, armor, or items that don't utilize magic, technology, or gunpowder. So if you want your character to be able to carry around a normal sword or some other normal weapon, that's fine. Although we trust our members and don't have any other specific limits regarding what your character can and can't have as far as basic equipment goes, please don't try to take advantage of this and push us to where we feel like we need to make them. <3
what are djinns?
Djinns are small humanoid magical spirits that serve the council. Originally upon arriving at the Pantheon, each demigod was assigned a djinn to help them navigate both physical and social situations as well as provide answers to questions. Currently, they are still servants that are easily found anywhere civilized and are often the ones to inform newly arrived demigods of their heritage.
can my character have kids?
Yes and no. Fertility in demigods has not been affected by their presence in the mythical realm. However, children conceived 100% naturally will always result in stillborns for reasons unknown even to the Council. If a child is conceived in tandem with a god's blessing, rare magics, or a demigods power, the child will live... but will not have any powers to speak of.
where's the switch accounts thingy?
